Who we are
RF Safe is much more than a dot com company, founded in Aspen Colorado in 1995, RF Safe (RFS) has changed the wireless world forever! Our organization has united people and companies from around the world with a common goal in mind to make the world a safer place for our children.
The people RF Safe count on to change the wireless industries unsafe business practices are scientist, engineers, doctors, lawyers, artist, web designers and sales people, but most importantly it is their combined instinct to be caring mothers and fathers.
Our solutions for today's wireless problems rely on manufactures using RF Safe Approved antenna's in wireless products. In July. 2003. the FCC ruled to force cell phone manufactures to utilize innovative antenna designs that will control RF exposure a cell phone user is exposed to.
This was done under the umbrella of hearing aid compatibility issues, while medical device compatibility is relevant, it was a discovery in a new concept of cell phone antenna design by RF Safe's founder, John Coates that paved the way for the recent FCC rule changes and wireless antennas of the future.
We've always had our eyes on the future while putting focus on the problems at hand. Currently nearly one billion people in the world own cell phones that are NOT compliant with recent FCC rule previsions leaving hundreds of millions of cell phone users at a disadvantage.
RF Safe's years of research has created a simple system of safe cell phone usage that will far exceed all government safety standards using SAR guidelines. RF Safe offers a line of wireless accessories that brings your current cell phone into compliance of newly adopted (July 2003) FCC standards. Note: RFS has been offering its visitors this technology online for five years before it was made mandatory by the FCC.
What we've done!
It all started with years of research that gave us an awareness and understanding of the potential hazards surrounding EMF exposure. RF Safe has conducted test on every method in the world to reduce rf exposure. By 1998 it became quite clear that most products sold to protect consumers from radio frequency exposure were scams. We've spent years of man hours trying to get rid of these companies that were selling a false since of protection. Then in late 2000, Good Housekeeping Institute's Director of Engineering, Mark Kalinowski interviewed RF Safe's founder John Coates about cell phone safety devices. RF Safe's founder spent several hours explaining the independent testing RFS had done on devices to reduce cell phone radiation exposure, and in doing so he made it crystal clear that certain companies were putting consumers in more danger by them thinking they had some protection and did not. The Good Housekeeping Institute than conducted test confirming RF Safe's findings. Because of this media exposure the FTC sued two of these companies which has brought an end to their fraudulent marketing scams in May 2003!

A simple way to reduce Headset RF Radiation exposure
- WireGuards are the ideal add-on accessory for any headset using a AIR-TUBE design for RF reduction. Even Air-tube headsets have a wire "often in contact with your body", and a WireGuard prevents the wire from acting as an effective high frequency antenna!
- The WireGuard suppresses radiation transferred up the headset wire to the earpiece without affecting sound quality.
The wireguard is a reusable radiation suppression clamp-on device similar to a clamshell. This device clamps over the headset wire above the plug that is inserted into the phone. It incorporates a ferrous composition based material which interacts directly with the high frequency energy and suppresses it effectively while allowing the voice signal to pass through to the earpiece unimpeded. The effect of magnetic material on a conductor
Current flowing through a conductor creates a magnetic field around it. Transfer of energy between the current and the magnetic field is effected through the "inductance" of the conductor - for a straight wire the self-inductance is typically 20nH per inch. Placing a magnetically permeable material around the conductor increases the flux density for a given field strength and therefore increases the inductance.
Wires or cables connected/extending from electronic devices using radio waves (such as cell phones), if not shielded will emit over ambient rf radiation levels. To suppress high frequency rf radiation from interacting with sensitive electronics and biologic systems (cell phone users), we offer a line of clamp-on ferrites suppressors. Our ferrites aim to effectively shield the harmful electromagnetic fields from traveling along computers wires, electric wires and cell phone headsets wires ect.
Using a cell phone with a hands free headset that is NOT shielded will dramatically increase rf radiation exposure to DNA within vital organs. All studies have proven in the likely hood that microwave radiation from a cell phone handset is hazardous.
